Betty Lou (Barnes) Foose, 67, of Benwood, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at her home
Betty was born October 3, 1949, in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Margie (Jeseph) Barnes. She was a former employee of Moundview Nursing Home, Moundsville, and the West Liberty State College Bookstore. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Benwood; and loved gardening and nature.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Barnes. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Paul Andrew Foose; a daughter, Charlene Foose Geyer (Robert) of Marshall County, W.Va.; three sons, Paul David Foose (Dana) of Richmond, Va., Daniel Matthew Foose (Jessica) of Chesterfield, Va., and Patrick Michael Foose of Benwood; two sisters, Shirley Bunch of Cameron, W.Va., and Nellie Craig of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Robert Barnes (Diane) of Moundsville, W.Va., and William Barnes (Deborah) of Winston Salem, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Gabriel Michael Mickey, Bobby Geyer, Serena Geyer, Jordana Foose, Ingrid Foose, Isaiah Foose, Hiedi Foose and Salem Foose; several nieces and nephews; and her favorite dog, Sasha.
Friends will be received from 2-8 pm, Friday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, June 3, 2017, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant. I will miss seeing her walking her basset hounds around Benwood. So sorry for your loss. May she Rest In Peace.
So sorry to hear of Betty’s passing, we were neighborhood friends of all the siblings as I lived on Bessemer and she on Ashland Avenue. Those years were the one’s I remember the best and they were the best!

Betty will be missed by all who knew her smile, her laugh, her love for family, friends and her furry friends, too. I’ll also miss seeing her walk with Sasha.
