Betty Lue (Jones) Maltese, 92, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at her home.
Betty was born July 27, 1925, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Charles and Luella (Marks) Jones. She was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church and a proud member of the former Coffee Breakers Bowling League, Elm Grove.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Richard Maltese, Sr., in 2014; a brother, Marsh Jones; and two sisters, Margaret Hirsch and Helen Conner.
Betty is survived by her three children, Rich (Cecilia) Maltese of Wheeling, Nick (Cheryl) Maltese of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Linda (David) Krulock of Belmont, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Donald (Nancy) Maltese of Canton, Ohio, and Thomas Hoffman of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Alexander (Anne) Maltese, Nicholas (Stacy) Maltese, Natalie Maltese, Lindsay Krulock, Nicole Maltese, and Brianne (Vance) Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Tuesday, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, August 2, 2017, with the Rev. April Forkey officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
