Catherine “Katie” Dofka Siegal, 53, of Wheeling, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, peacefully at home.

She was born November 25, 1963. Katie graduated from Mt. DeChantal Academy and attended West Virginia University. She was an avid athlete, excelling in softball, hockey, golf and cheerleading. Katie is remembered as a kind and caring individual with sincere love for her family, her son, her pets, and she was a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephew.

She is preceded in death by her father, Patrick Dofka and her niece, Kerri Gilligan.

Katie is survived by her son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law, Erin, of Houston, TX; Rick Siegal of Canton, OH; her mother, Charline Dofka; two sisters, Michele Dofka Young and Patty and brother-in-law, Terry Gilligan, all of Wheeling; a special Uncle Tom Manion of Summerfield, FL; nieces, Kristin (Ryan) Gilligan Morris of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen Gilligan of Wheeling, and Kimberly Gilligan of Austin, TX and a nephew, Michael Buseman currently residing in Florida.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 4-7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm with Rev. Bill Matheny Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
