James was born June 11, 1949, in Wheeling, a son of the late James Vincent Cerra Sr. and Mary Louise Crawford. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step mother, Marjorie Lockett Cerra; his grandparents, Tony and Mary Perro Cerra; and two uncles, Tony Cerra, and Elmer Cerra.
James is survived by two daughters, Amber Cerra, and April Cerra, and five grandchildren, Kamdyn Cerra, Noah Cerra, Ava Cerra, Mark Cerra, and Kaylee Jayne Pincombe.
James retired from Mountain State Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1997 after working as a Resource Inventory Clerk.
Friends will be received from 11 until time of service at 1 pm, Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.

Fat Cat was a larger than life kind of person! Everyone liked him and he was always a Friend. Prayers to the family to find Peace in this very difficult time.
