Janet Patricia Boreman, 83, of Valley Haven Geriatric Center, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 in Ohio Valley Medical Center.
She was born August 12, 1932 in Benwood, WV, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Furbee) Boreman. She was a Methodist by faith. Janet was a member of Marshall County Senior Citizens and AARP. She was a former employee of Marx Toys and of Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters; Mary “Olive” Sanders, Kathryn Tighe and Nellie Genotti; and three brothers, Thomas “Okey”, Edward E. and Arthur “Buddy” Boreman.
Janet is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” (Renee) Boreman; two grandchildren, Justin and Madison; special friend, Wanda Lazear; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Thursday, January 28, 2016, and 10 am until time of services at 11 am, Friday, January 29, at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall St., McMechen, with Chaplain Ron Rice as celebrant. Interment to follow at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.
All floral table arrangements will be donated to local nursing homes.
The family would like to thank the staff of Valley Haven Geriatric Center for their devoted care and compassion during Janet’s residency.

Bob, Jim and I are so sorry for your loss. You were a good son to her and in the coming months and years I hope that gives you comfort. You were there for her and did your best always.
