Jo Ann (Walter) Loy, 77 of Sherrard/Wheeling WV, Passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1940 in Canton, OH, daughter of the late Dorothy Derrick. Jo Ann actively served as a Four H Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, John Marshall Band Parent, PTA member and past PTA President, Allen Grove Presbyterian Church Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dave, Jim and Clayton Walter and granddaughter, Hannah.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles E. Loy, Sr of Sherrard; six children, Dorothy Robinson of Moundsville, WV, Ed (Becky) Loy of Cameron, WV, Zona (Jay) Harris of Bruceton Mills, WV, George (Penny) Loy of Winston-Salem, NC, Nina (John) Rudmann and Patty (Craig) Colebank all of Morgantown, WV; two brothers, Bob (Bobbie) Walter of Pittsburgh, PA and Bill (Terrie) Walter of Massachusetts; seventeen grandchildren, Paul, James, Chas, Savon, Cody, TJ, Nate, Jake, JC, Zach, Jeremy, Josh, Mark, Yasmine, Willow, Jackson and Justin and six great-grandchildren; Aubre ,Dakota, Charlee, Tristan, Austin and Lilly.
Friends will be received Friday, June 23, 2017, from 6-9 pm and again on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville with Pastor Danny Cook Officiating.
Interment will follow at Halcyon Hills Memorial Garden, Sherrard.
