McDONALD, John Michael Sr., 69, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born November 22, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Howard and Kay (DeTemple) McDonald. He was Catholic by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joann McDonald.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laura (Roeder) McDonald; two children, John “Mick” McDonald Jr. of Wheeling, and Layce (Rich) McDonald-Law of Bergholz, Ohio; three brothers, Tim McDonald, Danny McDonald, and Terry McDonald; four sisters, Patty Morhouse, Kathleen Naegele, Linn Johnson, and Susie Barker; four grandchildren, Richie Law, Kylie Law, Kelsie Law, and Mikayla McDonald; his aunt who raised him, Jean Arrington Barker Gunion McCready, and her children Butch Barker, Gloria Gehrig, and Edie Roll with whom he grew up with.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, W.Va., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. William Matheny officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Parkview Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
