Marian “Idale” (McLaughlin) Thomas, 85, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
Idale was born November 29, 1931 in Connoquenessing, PA, daughter of the late Benjamin and Marian (Graham) McLaughlin.
She was retired from OVMC where she worked as a RN for 40 years, member of ST. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, member of the women’s Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Samuel Philip Thomas and three brothers, Graham, Michael and Benjamin McLaughlin.
Surviving are her four sons, Matthew (Mindy) Thomas of Moundsville, WV, Jeff Thomas of Wheeling, Donald (Sharon) Thomas of Cary, NC and Michael (Susan) Thomas of Valley Grove, WV; brother, Joseph (Devora) McLaughlin of Middlebourne, WV; three sisters, Grace Salina of San Antonio, TX, Nancy Glover of Middlebourne, and Ann Ice of TN; six grandchildren, Ginny (Mike) Blake, Skylar, Trent, Erin, Phillip and Brien Thomas; two step grandchildren, Jessica and Jimmy West and three great grandchildren, Keirstan, Koleby and Donnie Richmond III; four step-greatgrandchildren Tyler and Ellie Auber and Jourdyce and Hunter West and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday March 3, 2017 at 10am at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Bill Matheny serving as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling. WV. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, at www.TMCFunding.com

She was the best big sister anyone could ever ask for she was always happy and Loving, could never say a bad about any she is going to be missed every day. Rest In Peace my sweet sister Loved you so much.
