William Arthur "Art" Tyler

William “Art” Tyler, age 79, of Moundsville, died peacefully at home on July 23, 2017.

He was born February 21, 1938 in Glen Dale, WV. a son of the late Bill and Ora (Simmons) Tyler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tim W. Tyler. Art served in the U. S. Army in Germany from 1955 through 1959. Everyone who knew Art knew he loved fast cars, motorcycles, dune buggies…anything with wheels and thus his nickname of Crazy Wheels. He loved to build things with his hands including a cabin at fish creek, unique beds for his grandkids, and lawn furniture. He founded several clubs in Moundsville including the Gold Wings and Good Sam chapters. He loved hunting, bowling, and fishing.

He is survived by his caring and devoted wife, Janice (Hanlin) Tyler of 22 years; daughter, Billie Jo (George); Son, William “Fuzz” (Lisa); stepsons, Ron (Colleen) and Randy (Yoshiko); 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to Altmeyer Funeral Home in Moundsville, WV to pay their respects from Noon until 7 pm on Thursday July 27th. The funeral will immediately follow at 7 pm, with full military honors provided by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.
