Susan K. Slater Truslow passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
Born March 28, 1952, in Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marl and Sybil Prowse.
She is survived by her five children, Jerry Slater, Deena Shelek, Janette Layne, Claude A. Macri, and William Macri; her grandchildren Gage Slater, Caleb Lukkarila, Caden Hickman, Alexander Rose, Shamus & Jubilee Layne. A loving daughter, mother, and grandmother.
Truslow was a person of influence and a champion of women’s rights & laws regarding self-defense in the state of West Virginia after receiving executive clemency by then Governor John. D. Rockefeller in 1984, and a subsequent clemency by then Governor Arch A. Moore Jr. in 1987.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Martin Smay as celebrant. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
