Alberta Irene Henderson Kirchner, 94, of Glen Dale WV, died Monday, January 04, 2021 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center, Wheeling WV.  Born in Wheeling WV on April 10, 1926, Alberta was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Goldie Martin Henderson.  She was a retired switchboard operator at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.   After she retired, Alberta volunteered at the hospital for more than 20 years.  She was a member of St Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale, Reynolds Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, the Canasta Club for 50 years, and was a volunteer reader at Sherrard Elementary School.  In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Kirchner in 2013, two brothers Charles V. Henderson and Melvin Henderson, a grandson, Todd Kirchner and two infant daughters.   Surviving are two sons, Charles “Tom” Kirchner and his wife Pamela of Roanoke VA, Douglas L. Kirchner and his wife Susan of Wheeling, one daughter, Cheryl Gooch and her husband Frank of Glen Dale WV, five grandchildren, Allison, Daniel, Chad, Natalie, and Nolan and three great-grandchildren, Caden James, Sophie Juliette, and Delaney.

Private Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 118 Grant Ave, Moundsville WV.   A public Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Jude Catholic Church at a later date.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities,  125 18^th Street Wheeling WV  26003.
