Alfred Thomas Stab

January 24, 1932 - August 11, 2015

Alfred T. Stab, 83, of Wheeling, WV, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

He was born January 24, 1932 in Bridgeport, Ohio a son of the late Frank and Anne Marcinko Stab.

In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by brothers William Stab, Paul Stab and sister Francis (Stab) Thalman.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served as a staff sergeant in the Marine Corps 1st Marine Division.

Al was an avid gun collector and lifetime member of the Lewis Wetzel Rifle & Pistol Club in Triadelphia, WV.

He was a retired employee of C&P Telephone and Verizon Communications.

Surviving are his children; Terry Stab and his wife Donna, of Warner Robins, GA, Taelai Stab (Bill) of Raleigh, NC, Kathryn (Stab) (John) Riley ,of Pittsburgh, PA, and Tricia (Stab) Dudley (Giffen) of Jupiter, Florida; grandchildren Ryan Stab of Jacksonville, FL; Danielle and Zachary Porter of Cary NC; Sean and Dylan Riley of Pittsburgh, PA and Vivian and Leah Dudley of Jupiter, Florida.

Friends will be received from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Friday at the chapel of Good Shepherd Nursing Home with mass to follow.

Interment with military honors in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1601 Second Ave, Charleston, WV 25381.
