Alice “Bernardine” Carmichael, 88, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in Wheeling Hospital surrounded by family.
Born February 27,1931 the daughter of Bernard and Evelyn Metz. As one of the founders and partners she worked for over 50 years at Dale’s pre-owned Autos, previously known as Dale’s Pontiac in Moundsville WV. As one of her many hobbies she enjoyed spending time with her local Women’s’ Bunco and Cards Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Dale” Carmichael, and son Joseph H. Maupin Jr.
She is survived by four daughters, Evelyn Madden, Catherine Somers, Patricia Porter, and Deborah Swagart; fifteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Altemeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10 am with Pastor Barry Bullman officiating. Interment will follow in Fork Ridge Christian Church Cemetery with a reception held at Hartley’s located at 107 13th Street Moundsville WV starting 1:00 PM.
