Amelia L. Saliga

June 21, 1921 - February 16, 2019

Saliga, Amelia T., 97 of Benwood, died Saturday, February 16, 2019, in Peterson Hospital, Wheeling.

She was born June 24, 1921, in Benwood, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Juriga Saliga.

Amelia retired from M.Marsh & Sons as an Inspector, a member of St. John Catholic Church, Benwood where she was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol the Rosary Alter Society; a member of the Elm Grove Eagles- Ladies Auxiliary # 1891 and was a member of WIBC Bowling League.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Piehowicz, Helen Sandrick and Anna Saliga; six brothers, John, Joseph, William, Anthony George and Albert Saliga.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews including a niece Veronica Piehowicz of Benwood, two nephews Joseph Sandrick of Glen Dale and Dr. Thomas Piehowicz (Barbara) of Marietta, Ohio and their daughter Stephanie.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, from 2-6 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood/McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street where services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 10:30 am with  Rev. That Son Ngoc Nguyen officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
