Our Special Taste of Heaven Returns to Our Lord. Angela Nagem passed quietly on the morning of September 1, 2019. She was born April 9, 1927 in Lebanon. She is the loving mother of Eva Marie Nagem, Alex Nagem (Lori), and the late Dr. E. Thomas Nagem (Peg). She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Nagem. Angela loved to brag about her granddaughters, Nicole Trout (Steve), Jessica Jarrett (Mark), and Angela Maureen Zollman (Kurt). Angela was known as “Sitto” (grandma in Arabic) to anyone who walked in her home. She would meet all with a smile that would melt the snow, open arms that always made you feel loved, and desire to feed you before you left. Angela was a longtime employee of Horne’s of Wheeling where her talented hands altered many wedding gowns for young brides in the Ohio Valley. She handmade many a ring bearer pillows as gifts for “her” brides. Angela practiced her Catholic faith daily with prayers, watching daily Mass on EWTN, and what seemed to be perpetual praying of the Rosary. Her Rosary beads were never far from her hand. One of her favorite phrases for all was “God bless their heart.” For her kindness, richness of spirit and natural grace we give thanks and praise to this beautiful soul. The family thanks the staff at Peterson, the staff at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, especially Don Kirsch and Fr. Paul Cabrita. The Physician’s and Staff at OVMC for their compassion, love and great care of Mom. Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 from 2:00-8:00 pm with a vigil service being held at 8:00 pm. A Catholic Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Cathedral on September 5th at 10:00 am with Msgr. Kevin M. Quirk as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial contributions can be made to Youth Services of Wheeling, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and The House of Hagar c/o of Youth Services, Wheeling.
