Anne K. (Kissel) Amrhein, 99, of Wheeling, WV passed away, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Marshall County on April, 28, 1916. Daughter of the late Steve A. and Theresa M. (Sluka) Kissel.

Anne was a former sales associate for Stone & Thomas, A charter member of Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church, Graduate of Moundsville High School and the Elliott School of Business, member of the Rosary Altar Society, Infant of Prague Society, OPALS at OVMC, Pleasant Hill CEO’s (Homemakers), Volunteer at Reynolds Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Assistant Leader for Brownies, Assistant Leader for 4-H, selected as Marshall County Belle for the Marshall County Homemakers and a member of the Marshall County Senior Citizens.  Anne loved to garden, bake, sew and spend time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Paul F Amrhein Sr;  four brothers, Andrew, Steve Jr, Frank and infant brother Louis Kissel and her sisters, Marcella Prascik, infant Margaret, and Emma Pelley.

Surviving are her three children, Paul  Amrhein II ( Phyllis) of Mt. Olivet, WV; Carol A (Bill) Storm of Glen Dale, WV; and JoAnn (James) Meeker of Glen Dale; six grandchildren: Wendy A.(Barry) Cain of Knoxville, TN, Christine M. (Mike) Doty of Wheeling, Casey W. (Shelby) Storm of Glen Dale, Dr. Travis W. (Janelle) Storm of Columbus, OH, Lance J. (Whitney) Meeker of Bethel Park, PA and Cory P. (Brooke) Meeker of Zelienople, PA; six great grandchildren, Dominique Doty (Alexxis Tanley), Shelby M. Doty, Rilee, Braden and Shaye Storm and one great  grandson soon to be born; one great-great granddaughter, Arya Doty and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with a Rosary Service at 3:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am, Monday, August 10 at Our Lady of Peace, with Rev. Rick Shoda serving as celebrant.

Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 640 Old Fairmont Pike, Wheeling WV 26003 or to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 159 Edgington Lane, Wheeling WV 26003.

A special thank you to all the staff at Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their excellent care and concern given to our mother.

She was a great lady. Always had a twinkle in her eye. Made the best peanut butter cookies in the world. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Amrhein family in this difficult time.

Paul, Phyllis and family we are so sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. I always enjoyed going into Stone & Thomas on the first floor so I could stop and talk to her (a sweat lady).Please know or thoughts, prayers and love are with you all.
