Betty Lou (Rich) Stein, 90, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
Betty Lou was born April 3, 1929, in Salem, OH, the daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Taylor) Rich. She was lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
In addition to her parents, Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Stein, in 2003. She is survived by her three children, Joyce Wolfe and her husband, Jim of Wheeling, James Stein of New Castle, PA, and Peter Stein of Wheeling; a daughter-in-law, Linaka Stein of Wheeling; four grandchildren, Matthew L. Hartzell, MD, and his wife, Dr. Jennifer of Charlotte, NC, Hunter Stein, PA/C, and his wife, Elaini of Shadyside, OH, Peter Dylan Stein of Wheeling and Regan Shafer of Philadelphia, PA; and two great-grandsons, Salem Stein and Simon Henry Hartzell.
Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Friday, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 11, 2020, at St. Alphonsus Church, with the Rev. Arul Anthony as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
