Beverly Kay Dumas, 86, of Wheeling, WV, went home to meet her Savior on Wednesday, May 31,2017 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 16, 1931 in
Wheeling, a daughter of the late Kathryn Braunlich Langham and Harold Auber. She was raised by her loving grandparents, Stella and Earl Braunlich, Sr.
Beverly was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She was a member of the Wheeling Hospital Auxiliary, the WV Auxiliary of the Congregation of St. Joseph and the “Lunch Bunch”. She was also a past member of the Wheeling Golf and Tennis Clubs. She enjoyed golf and especially playing tennis, her bridge club and gatherings with friends and family. She loved cooking, baking, needlepoint, knitting, and crafting. She was a beautiful soul, full of faith, kindness, caring compassion and such a giving person whose greatest joy was doing for others. Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved, devoted husband of 58 years, Frank Dumas and her wonderful son, David Dumas, a brother, Earl Braunlich, Jr., a sister, Nancy Schnell, her mother, Kathryn Langham, and her aunts, Virginia Wade, Rhea Sacco, and Dorothy Kunick.
She leaves behind to cherish her life, her sons, Frank (Jeffery) Dumas and his wife Elizabeth, of Wheeling and their children, Peter, Brad, Katrina, Jessica, Nicole and Daniel; Brad Dumas of Fullerton, CA, a daughter; Rhea Rodgers and her husband Dwaine and their children, McKenzie and Spencer of Wheeling, a daughter in law, Lisa Dumas and children, Cole and Taylor of Pinehurst, NC; her sister in law, Helen Dumisinecz of Warwood, her cousin, Jim Billow, the Braunlich family and nine great grandchildren.
Beverly’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her devoted and loving caregivers.
Friends will be received on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove Chapel where a vigil service will be held at 7:30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. William Matheny as celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Garden Mausoleum.
In memory and honor of their mother, the family would like for everyone to do a kind deed for a family member, a friend, a neighbor, an acquaintance, a stranger or a special charitable organization like Valley Hospice.
