Carol Ann (Hartzell) Stern, 82, of Cameron, WV, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital-WVU Medicine, Glen Dale, WV.

Carol was born December 8, 1939, in Cameron, a daughter of the late John and Lucy (Keenan) Hartzell. She was a retired teller for BB&T Bank; a member of the First Christian Church, Cameron; and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post No. 18, Cameron.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory; brothers, Ronald and Charles Hartzell; sister, Betty Sue Ernest; and nieces, Laurie Murphy and Melissa Crutchley. She is survived by her husband, Terrill Stern; sons, Jonathan (Susan) Stern of Cameron and Joseph Stern of Wheeling; brother-in-law, Gary Ernest of Breckenridge, TX; sister-in-law, Joanne Hartzell of Cameron; granddaughters, Abby Jo (Robert) Rhodes of Ashland, VA and Josie Garland of Martins Ferry, OH; great-grandson, Hunter Cunningham; a very special lady and best friend, Karen Garland of Moundsville; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or services. Private interment will be held at Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, WV. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church of Cameron, 7 North Avenue, Cameron, WV 26033.
