Freddie had a special gift of spreading happiness everywhere he went. Many described him as a sweet, patient, good hearted, energetic, fun loving, kind, honest and a man of his word. He was a family man that always had a smile on his face and was ready to joke around. Even when he was challenged with his health, he was always so positive and a joy to be around. Freddie’s hobbies included cooking, spending time with his family, and reading the daily newspaper, looking at the auto ad section. Nicholas, his grandson was his pride and joy, they had a very special bond. They shared many great memories that included delivering newspapers and Meals on Wheels together and sitting around talking about the latest cars and trucks that they both enjoyed.
Freddie worked as a Main Cook in several restaurants for years, until he went to Consolidated Coal where he retired.
Family and friends will meet at the Atmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling on Friday, June 14th at 12:30 and will process to Greenwood Cemetery, where graveside rites will be held.
