01/16/1956 - 01/02/2022

Charles Houston “Bud” Hoyt II, 65, of Wheeling, West Virginia passed away on January 2, 2022, with his
dog, Addie Mae, by his side. His light, smile, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by family
and friends.
Bud was born January 16, 1956, the son of the late Charles H. “Bud” Hoyt and the late Nancy Hoyt.
He graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School, where he was a star football player and
athlete. He was a proud military veteran, serving in both the US Air Force and the US Army, where
he served in Germany, the Gulf States, and as a UN peacekeeper during the Bosnian conflict.
He was a gifted artist and following his time in the armed forces, he received an art degree
from Pittsburgh Art Institute. He loved to paint, draw, and express his creativity. His heart belonged
to his beloved dogs, Jazz, Homer and most recently Addie Mae. He also cared for numerous other
animals and furry friends.
He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially Jack Lambert and spending time at “Burkham Beach”
playing cornhole, drinking a Yeungling, and having bonfires with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Alex Conner. He will be missed by his three
loving sisters Kathy Conner (Tim Sole), Tammy Faust (Don Faust) and Kelly Hoyt (Mike
Cumberledge) and his brother Tom Hoyt.
Bud loved spending time and telling fantastic stories to his nieces and nephews. They include
Tiffany Harkness (Jeremy Sagun) Tommy Hoyt, Nicole Conner (Amanda Carbasho), Jamie Conner,
Jonathan Conner, Josh Faust (Alison Crawford) and Joie Tarnik (John Tarnik) and his great nieces
and nephews Mandolyn Harkness and Jonah Harkness, Alex Exner, Elena Bonfini, and Houston
Tarnik.
Bud had many great friends and neighbors who loved him like family. Special in his heart were Bill
and Debbie Coyle, Kevin and Connie Hoge, Frank Figaretti, Russell Powell and his sons Tristen and
Wesley.
At Bud’s request there will be no visitation or service. Instead there will be a memorial party held in
his honor at a later date. In the mean time, raise a glass in his memory.

When my wife lived next door, she, her daughter Faith, and I always enjoyed seeing Bud and Homer. I’m sorry he has left us too soon. Our hearts are with his family and friends.
