Dean W. Motta, 50, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
He was born November 23, 1966, the son of Ella Mae (Kingsley) and the late Harold Mariano Motta. Dean was a US Army Veteran. After college, he went on to work for the CIA for 5 years, and later became a Deputy Sheriff for 6 years. Dean enjoyed golfing, fishing and above all being with his family and friends. Dean valued greatly the honor of the brotherhood.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, of 7 years, Sam (Levenson) Motta; his mother, Ella Motta; three sisters, Robin (Eddie) Holley, Teri Nolan and Kim Durnan; four uncles, Wesley, Walter, James and Gene Kingsly; three nephews, Josh Holley, Tim Nolan, and Cody Durnan; four nieces, Amanda Holley, Kayla Durnan, Brittany Nolan, and Amy Holley; one great-niece, Avianna Gray; his brothers in arms from Nicholas County; Justin Beaver, Jared Bennett, Brandon Tucker, Jerry Hall, Jeff Davis, Doug Gordon, Aaron Evans, Buddy Stapleton, and Ronny McClung, Ohio County; Brandon Brooks, Kris Waechter, Chad Heckler, Jay Bracher-Musty, and Josh Norman.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 10 am until time of service 1 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, with Pastor Aaron Evans officiating.

It’s been a year Dean that you have left us & I think of you so often that some days r worse than others! You were such an amazing brother & I will always love you & hold a very special place in my heart when I think of you! Until we see each other again I miss you!!!

My brother Dean has been gone now for almost 5 months & it still doesn’t seem possible!! He was the best brother that any sister could ever had! He was a person to look up to & a mentor for everyone & he was just an amazing brother whom I will & was & always will be forever proud of!!! I love you so much Dean your in my thoughts every single day!! I feel like you are still out there working & patrolling the streets for everyone’s safety!! Xoxo miss you deeply!!
