Delores I. “Goldie” Huggins McGrath, 80 of Wheeling, WV died peacefully on January 31, 2019 at Good Shephard Nursing Home. Born on June 8, 1938, in Wileyville, WV, she is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Opal Yoho Huggins of Beech Bottom, WV, her husband of 58 years, Lewis McGrath, Sr. of Wheeling, WV and a son Phillip Brian McGrath of Manchester, Michigan.
Delores was known to close family as “Sister”. She was a loving wife and mother, homemaker and retired secretary for E.E. Golden in Wheeling, WV. She loved painting, sketching, baseball, BINGO and a good cup of coffee. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and close friends and with her husband Lew on the back-porch.
She is survived by her children, Lewis McGrath Jr., Deanna McGrath Davis and Tammy (Robert) Kruse all of Wheeling, WV, Daughter-In-Law Dana Geiser-McGrath of Manchester, MI and a niece who was like a daughter, Kathy Bauer, her grandchildren Bradly (Amber), Justin, Jenna, Shane (Gabrielle), Laura, Braxton, Olivia, Victoria and Liam as well as her two sisters Loretta Basil and Janet (Tim) Noel two brothers Percy Huggins and Shirrel Huggins, sister-in-law Mary McGrath-Stone, and many nieces and nephews.
Her many friends and relatives will miss her warm smile and wonderful laugh. Many thanks to the caring staff at Good Shephard Nursing Home who took such good care of Delores
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 3rd 2p.m.- 6p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. Funeral services on Monday, February 4th 11am, Altmeyer Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church

My very sincere sympathy for the loss of your dear, sweet mother. She was always smiling when she came to Bingo at Wheeling Jr. High. She brightened up our day. Hugs and prayers to Deanna and Tammy.
