Desiree J. (Galensky) Jasko, 41, of Tiltonsville, OH, passed away October 4, 2021, in Wheeling Hospital.
Desiree was born August 22, 1980, in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of Michael J. and Clara F. (Walters) Galensky of Adena, OH. She was a 1998 graduate of Buckeye Local High School; and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2009 and her Double Master’s Degree in 2012 from Wheeling Jesuit University. She was employed as a H.R. coordinator for Orrick Law Firm, Wheeling; and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where she was active in the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the P.A.P. Club, Wheeling; the Elm Grove Eagles, Aerie 1891; and the Warren Township Lions Club.
Known to some as “Sunshine”, Desiree’s favorite flowers included sunflowers and lilies. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, making pickles, Care Bears & Scooby Doo. Christmas was by far her favorite holiday and she loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies and “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Desiree was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Richard Galensky; maternal grandparents, Harry and Nellie Walters; father-in-law, Nicholas Jasko, II; uncle, Gerald Galensky; and her dog, Peanut.
In addition to her parents, Desiree is survived by the love of her life and husband of four years, Nicholas Jasko, III; her mother-in-law, Linda Jasko of Bethlehem; paternal grandmother, Wilma Galensky of Greenville, TN; brother, Alex Galensky of Adena; sisters, Dawn (Joseph) Pahides of Steubenville, OH and Daisy Luyster of Smithfield, OH; sisters-in-law, Karri Mulhern and Rhonda (Rod) Haley, both of Wheeling; nieces and nephews, Jonathon and Jordan Haley, and Emily and Abigail Mulhern; and great-niece, Mia Grace Shriver.
Friends will be received from 12-3 & 5-8 pm, Thursday, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Friday, October 8, 2021, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Wiley as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Please note that masks will be required at the visitation, vigil service and funeral Mass.

She was one of the sweetest people I ever met she stayed at my house when she had issues with the guy she dated. She was always welcome loved her so much.
