August 20, 1925 - June 9, 2015

Edith (Solomone) McLaughlin Thomas, 89, of Bridgeport, OH, formerly of Moundsville, WV passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH.

She was born August 20, 1925, in Benwood WV, the daughter of the late Rocco and Louise (DiGiacmo) Solomone.

Edith was a retired seamstress from OVMC and member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her first husband in 1970, Harold E. McLaughlin and her second husband in (1993) Edward L. Thomas; brother, Albert Solomone; four sisters, Helen Evanich, Gilda Flading, Jeanette Porterfield and Virginia Peacemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis (Sam) Harrigan of Moundsville; son, Harold “Jay” McLaughlin; sister, Mary Jane DiCocca of Reynoldsburg, OH; five grandchildren, Melissa (Mark) Persinger of Moundsville, Rebecca (Melvin) Snyder of Denver, Colorado, Samuel Harrigan Jr. of Denver Colorado, Dana Sue and Beth Ann both of Wheeling, WV and two great grandchildren, Tony Persinger and Katrina Peterson.

Friends will be received Friday, June12 from 10- 10:45 am.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Friday, June 12 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev.  That Son Nguyen serving as Celebrant

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling
