Eileen June Boyce

September 20, 1951 - February 7, 2021

Eileen June Boyce, age 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, February 7th, 2021. She was born on September 20th, 1951 to late parents Donald and Margaret (Weir) Richmond, making her a younger sister to Joan (Don) Parsons. Her best friend Kathy McCollach was also a wonderful sister to her. Growing up, she was an exceptional, hardworking student who accompanied her studies by working at Sherman’s Bakery and graduated from Wheeling High in 1969. On February 6th, 1977, she married her love, Louis Boyce, whom she would remain married to for 44 years upon her passing. A native of the Valley, Eileen settled lifelong in Wheeling where she worked at Wheeling Electric for 10 years and as a manager at Briarcliff Manor for 18 years. She also sold Shaklee for 35 years where she met many lifelong friends. In retirement, Eileen loved scrapbooking, playing games and sweepstaking and had hundreds of friends online she never met but that she prayed for and spoke with often. Eileen had a caring, gentle and kind heart for healing and helping others through friendship, prayer and good old conversation, always taking time to reach out and make sure everyone was doing ok. She also adored her white Eskimo dog, Pinkey, who gave her so much company in her older years. One of Eileen’s secret talents was her ability to beat anybody at Dr. Mario on the Nintendo. Eileen and Lou would often spend hours playing against each other at the game.

Eileen is survived by her husband Lou, her daughters Marcie (Justin) Fortun and Melanie Boyce, stepdaughter Valerie (Steve) Bryan, and granddaughters Kaylee Boyce and Fara Fortun. Eileen loved her girls so dearly and spoke with them most every day of their lives.

Eileen loved the Lord, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she has finally gone home to be with our ultimate Father. In this time, they tearfully hand her over to the Lord saying we’ll see you soon, Wife, Mom, and Grandma.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 11th from 10AM-1PM, service following at 1PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
