Tom and Lou, What a phenomenal person Bettyann was. She was always so kind and straight to the point too (sorry about the Heavenly Hash). She took in all sorts of strays and made them feel loved and at home. I hope that you both get a chance to smile today, because I'm sure that Bettyann, Tom and Grandma Vensel are smiling down on you. Rest in Peace, Bettyann. You are loved and will definitely be missed.

Laura: I was so saddened to hear of you Mom’s passing. She was a lovely person and an exceptional teacher. I thought the world of her, and have nothing but warm memories of being in her class many years ago. I spoke to her many times in the ensuing years and she was always so pleasant and a joy to talk to, and always made you feel special when you would talk with her. Not just one of my favorite teachers, she was one of my favorite people I’ve ever met. I just wish I would’ve told her that. I will keep you all in my prayers

Mrs. Stewart -my 4th grade teacher will be missed while visiting Wheeling Hospital and I will never forget getting locked in our 4th grade classroom at St. Michael's. God bless your family at this time!!!

Tom, My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Your Mom was a beautiful person and will be remembered for her great smile and positive attitude. When I worked for Wheeling Jesuit University food service, I looked forward to seeing her and talking with her at Charter Guild each month. She would tell me about you and your sister and all that was going on. She was so proud of you two.

Laura, We certainly know that we were blessed that your Mom taught all 3 of our girls. They loved her and I never heard any complaints from them about their "favorite teacher". She was a great influence!

Bettyann -- What a vibrant person! Through High School and College, I always found her to be a person who spread joy. I remember the parties at her house, her love of Johnny Mathis, and her seemingly perpetual smile. I'll miss her.
