Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Smith

Elizabeth Marie “Betty” Smith, 98, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, July 27, 2019.

She was born April 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Osusky) Paul. Betty was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a member of Christian Mothers at St. Alphonsus.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Smith; three brothers, Brother Stephen Paul, Brother Herman Paul and Bernard Paul; three sisters, Eleanor Hehr, Martha Carl and Sister Marita Paul and one grandson, Michael Doerr.

Betty is survived by her three children, Dennis (Mary Ellen) Smith, Judy (Joseph) Doerr and Richard Smith; two grandchildren, Julie Doerr and Joseph (Danielle) M. Doerr, two great-grandchildren, Abby and Justin Doerr and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 9:30-11:30 am, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff St. Funeral services will be held at noon at Mt. Calvary Bishop’s Chapel, 1685 National Road, Wheeling, where interment will be held.
