Becker, Elsie Marie Leonard, 97 of Wheeling, formerly of Benwood, died Monday, June 15, 2020 in Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
She was born August 11, 1922 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Elsie Nolte Leonard.
Elsie was a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen; Benwood American Legion Auxiliary and Alter Rosary Society of St. James.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph H. Becker; four sisters Margaret McMasters, Mary Mottle, Louise Levicki and Kathleen Runtenelli; four brothers Paul, Eugene, James and George Leonard.
Surviving are a daughter, Josetta Lee Yanik ; three grandchildren, Yvette Canedo (Tom), Dr. Lee Yanik (Dr. Melissa), Melissa Herron (Shawn) and six great-grandchildren, Thomas Canedo, Kayla Canedo, Emma Canedo , Kelly Canedo, Jax Herron and Sam Herron.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11 am at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen with Rev. Arul Anthony as celebrant. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 326 Logan Street, McMechen, WV., 26040.
