Estella Eugenia McMahon

April 28, 1915 - November 27, 2019

Estella Eugenia (Knollinger) McMahon, formerly of Glen Dale, WV, a centenarian who beat the odds, living 104 years, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, in Roswell, GA.

Estella was born April 28, 1915, in Benwood, WV, a daughter of the late Eugene and Cora Knollinger. She was a Lutheran by faith, and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Johns Creek, GA. She was also a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Boggs Run, Benwood, WV, where she was a Sunday School teacher, and Faith Lutheran Church, Birmingham, AL. Estella was homemaker, but worked at Tri-State Machine Shop, Glen Dale, while her husband served his country during WWII. She was also involved with the Cub Scouts at one time.

In addtion to her parents, Estella was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph “Glenn” McMahon, in 2003; three sisters, Mary Showalter, Margaret Watters and her twin sister, Rosella McCracken; and a brother, Tom Knollinger. She is survived by her son, Donald McMahon of Roswell; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, WV, Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am, with Vicar Peg Marose officiating. Interment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Parament Fund, Messiah Lutheran Church, 4765 Kimball Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30005.
