Evelyn Wadad Ghaphery, 89, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born on April 26, 1932 in Wheeling, daughter of the late Nicholas Ghaphery Sr. and Nimnoom (George) Ghaphery.
Evelyn was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, where she played the organ for fifty years and also was the Office Manager for A.D. Ghaphery M.D. Professional Association for fifty years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great nephew, Austin Ghaphery.
Surviving are her sister, Juliette Ann Breit of Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers, Dr. and Mrs. A.D. Ghaphery of Wheeling and Nicholas A. Ghaphery of Wheeling; 6 nephews, Nick A. Ghaphery D.O. of Wheeling, Dr. David A. Ghaphery (Kim) of Wheeling, Keith A. Ghaphery (Melissa) of Roanoke. VA; Brian A. Ghaphery ESQ. (Chris) of Wheeling, Curtis P. Breit (Lori) of Ijamsville, Maryland and Michael N. Breit (Nicole) of Wilmington, NC; Great nieces and nephews, Selena Meeker (D.T.), Megan Colaianni (Louie, Noah, Mia), Aldon , Bryce, Chaz, Eli, Brianna, MacKenzie, Brailyn, Cara, Harper, Adley and Owen Ghaphery; Herman Cohen of Pittsburgh, Deanna Ghaphery of Wheeling, Jayne Rydzak of Pittsburgh and Tony Nasr of Methuen Massachusetts, family members; cousins of the George family, cousins of the Azar family, cousins of the Peters family and cousins of the John family.
A private visitation will be held for the family and relatives for reasons of the Covid Virus.
Public Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church with Rev. Bakhos Chidiac serving as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
