Evelyn Virginia Shook

January 15, 1924 - March 16, 2019

Evelyn Virginia Shook, 95, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Moundview Health Care.

She was born January 15, 1924, a daughter of the late Carl H. and Mary (Ferrell) Shook. Evelyn retired from Wheeling Dollar/WesBanco after 42 years.  She was an active member of Limestone Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for more than 60 years and was a youth leader for 25 years. Evelyn was the first Marshall County Volunteer of the Year and held office positions with the Limestone Community Association and Limestone Fire Department.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three brothers, Donald E., Carl R., and Ivan L. Shook and one sister, Mary Mardell Rogerson.

Evelyn is survived by one sister, Ruth Ann Tiefel of Tallahassee, FL; close friends, Lloyd and Margaret Walker of Moundsville and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 4 pm until time of services at 6 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby – Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, with Pastor Larry Kline and Pastor Michael Dunn as concelebrants. Interment will be held Thursday, March 21, at 10 am at Limestone Presbyterian Cemetery.
