Frank George Bartsch, 87, of Wheeling, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He was born March 15, 1935 in Wheeling, the son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (McManus) Bartsch.
He retired from both Gast Bakery and Ohio County Schools; in addition he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Elaine Louise (Stahl) Bartsch in 2001; a brother Colonel Joseph Bartsch; two sisters Elizabeth “Libby” Bartsch and Ann Bozenske.
Surviving are four children, Cheryl Mendenhall (Thomas) of Wheeling, Duane Bartsch (Delcee) of Wheeling, Frank Patrick Bartsch (Diane) of Smyrna, Georgia and Elaine Dolan (Matt) of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Jeremy Bartsch , Bobby Mendenhall, Dr. Eric (Allie) Mendenhall, Dr. Lee Mendenhall; Dr. Logan (Casey) Bartsch, Riley (Zach) Keylor, Brittany Dolan, Adam Dolan, Allie Cook, Alayna Cook; great grandchildren Samuel Mendenhall, William Mendenhall, Crew Keylor, Carter Abrigg, Cali Abrigg, Leland Abrigg; a special lady friend Felicia Harto.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling
