George Marvin "Ice" Manning

George “Ice” Marvin Manning, 78, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1940, in Wheeling, WV.
George was a 1959 graduate of Union High School, member of St. Jude Catholic Church, member of the Gariabaldi Lodge in Benwood, WV, served on the Marshall County School Board for 23 years, coached, umpired and refereed baseball for many years, was a proud sponsor of Marshall County Athletics, avid Notre Dame fan and worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 30 plus years.
George was preceded in death by Toby his dog.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Judy (Cerra) Manning of Glen Dale; children, Debbie Manning of McMechen, WV, Michelle (Jay) Petrone of Glen Dale and George Manning of Inwood, WV; four grandchildren, Lacy Pelaez of Glen Dale, Chase Pelaez of Morgantown, WV, Tyler & Kaylyn Petrone of Glen Dale; three nephews, Eric & Jamie Cunningham of Glen Dale and Adam (Manda) Cunningham of Morristown, OH: several nieces and one great nephew and his dog, Boo Boo.
Per George’s request, there will be no services at this time. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, at a later date,
Arrangements were handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Marshall County or Belmont County Animal Shelters.
