George Yi Ts’ien, 63, a resident of Rescare-Cadiz Group Home, Cadiz, OH, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.

George was born July 25, 1956, in Chapel Hill, NC, a son of the late Yi and Nancy (Delbrugge) Ts’ien. He was a member of St. Michael Church, Wheeling. He is survived by his brother, Matthew Tsien of Pompano Beach, FL; his step-mother, Dr. Carole Wharton Tsien; and his Rescare-Cadiz Group Home family.

George was named after George Washington by is Chinese father. He was a Special Olympics Gold Medalist, was selected to be the Easter Seals Poster child while he lived in Washington, D.C., and attended White House Easter Egg Hunts during the Kennedy Administration. George also participated in the Boy Scouts program, and was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Friends will be received from 9 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am, Monday, November 25, 2019, at the Bishop’s Chapel at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
