Ivan Russell Moore

Ivan Russell Moore, 87, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020. He was born March 12, 1933, in Sand Hill, WV, a son of the late Challen and Ruth Katherine (Dougherty) Moore.

Ivan was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran; a retired supervisor for Savage Construction, Wheeling, after 50 years of service; and was a Certified Concrete Testing Technician. He was often times seen joined at the hip with Jack Savage. He was also a member of the Elm Grove Lions Club; and enjoyed Nascar, Steelers football, car restoration, woodcrafts, traveling, and a good Manhattan during happy hour.

In addition to his parents, Ivan was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Scheehle) Campbell; and a brother, Duane Moore. He is survived by his four children, Sarah “Sally” (Bob) Byard of Wheeling, Scott (Margaret) Moore of Salt Lake City, UT, Gail (Ernie) Grubb of Olympia, WA, and Dale (Kelly) Moore of Germanton, NC; a sister-in-law, Roberta Sarraf of Cannonsburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Leah) Byard of Ashville, NC, Christopher “Todd” Byard of Phoenix, AZ, Joshua Moore of Salt Lake City, UT, Nicole (Ryan) Harper of Buena Vista, CO, Trevor and Hunter Rolfe of Olympia, WA, and Cory and Adam Moore of Germanton, NC; a great-granddaughter, Madeline Schmid; three step-children, Mike (Judy) Campbell, Tyler (Carol) Campbell and Kevin (Connie) Campbell; and several step-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. A private graveside service and interment will be held at Mount View Cemetery, Dallas, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
