James Ferguson "Pudd" Hengler

June 29, 1946 - July 23, 2020

James F. “Pudd” Hengler, 74, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at home.
He was born June 29, 1946, the son of the late Paul A. and Mary Ferguson Hengler.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School. A Vietnam veteran of the US Army, in which he received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart Metal for being wounded in combat. A Catholic by faith. A retired employee of Carenbaur Distributing Corp.
Jim was a member of the Teamsters Local 697 in Wheeling, as well as a member of the Cave Club, Snake Club, PAP Club and many other establishments and organizations.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela McFarland Hengler (2019); two brothers, John P. Hengler and Robert Hengler and one sister, Mary Ann Hengler Pearson.
Jim is survived by his two children, Elaine (Shawn) Donaldson and Paul (Melaine) Hengler; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Nancy (Jim) Parisi of Wheeling and Sally (Leo) Pulte of Hebron, KY; three brothers, Michael (Kim) Hengler of Hazel Green, AL, Patrick Hengler of Snellville, GA and Phillip (Tammy) Hengler of Lawrenceburg, TN, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, July 28, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, WV 26003 from 10 am until time of services at 12 pm. Burial and military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
