James “Fish” Richard Fisher, 67, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on June 1, 1954 in Wheeling, son of the late Charles William & Sarah (Clevenger) Fisher.
Fish was Catholic by faith, a former employee of Rohrig Sanitation, a handyman and loved to help others. He has served the people of Wheeling for the last 20 years by volunteering his services at the Soup Kitchen of the Greater Wheeling area.
Surviving are his three children, Mary Evans of Martins Ferry, OH, Wendy Sue Coffman of Martins Ferry and Melissa Slone of Huntington, WV; 4 siblings, Theresa (Gary) Weekley of Wheeling, Mary Kay Fisher of Reno, Nevada, William Charles “Billy” Fisher of Wheeling and Willetta Jean Schrader of Bridgeport, OH; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Becky Shilling-Rodocker of the Soup Kitchen of the Greater Wheeling area..
There will be a Memorial Service held for Fish on Saturday, September 18, 4:30 pm at The Soup Kitchen, Wheeling.
The family wants a special thank you to be given to all of Fish’s extended family at the Soup Kitchen and also a special thank you to Dr. William Mercer for taking such good care of Fish.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling at 1610 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.

Jimmie was such a generous person- giving his time and skills to help others- he also was such a positive person after his accident. Whenever I saw him on his bike he would wave & He always would have a big smile. May God bless you Jimmy.
