Ferrera, Janet Elaine Rea, 82, of Wheeling died Sunday March 10, 2019 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.

Janet was born September 15, 1936 in Pomeroy, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stanley Ernest and Lillian Virginia Dean Rea.

She was a switchboard operator for C & P Telephone, a secretary for St Vincent de Paul School for two years, a secretary for St Vincent de Paul Church for twelve years and a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elm Grove, Wheeling.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Thomas A. “Tom” Ferrera Sr., a son, Thomas A. “Tiger” Ferrera Jr. (Shawna) of Wheeling, three daughters, Patricia Tighe of Wheeling, Joanna “Jodi” Bricker (Andy) of Norwich, Ohio and Lori Helfer (Mike) of Selma, Texas, a brother, Phil Rea (Karen) and a sister Nancy Pfarr, ten grandchildren, Anthony, Abbey, Michael, Katie, Shea, T. J., Izzy, Noah, Laura and Tyler, two great granddaughters, brother-in-laws and sister-in-law ,several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday March 13, 2019 from 2 – 7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 14, 2019 at 11 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Monsignor Paul Hudock as celebrant. Entombment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
