John Bernard "Jack" Olman

February 12, 1945 - February 4, 2019

John Bernard “Jack” Olman, 73, of Elm Grove, WV, formerly of Moundsville, WV, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019, at Wheeling Hospital, surrounded by family.

John was born February 12, 1945, in Wheeling, the son of the late Barney and Eulalia Cecelia (Wasemann) Olman. John retired as an electrician from Consol Energy McElroy Mine, where he was known as “Frog”, in January 2009, after 40 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, of 41 years, Julia Ann (Harris) Olman (February 2018).

John is survived by his children, Samuel (Janelle Crow) Garcia of Elm Grove, Charles (Shay Irwin) Olman of Bridgeport, OH, Christina (Stephen) Beck of Elm Grove and Zachary (Sierra McNeil) Olman of Moundsville; one sister, Kathleen (John) Solovan of Belmont, OH; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Family and friends will be received Monday, February 11, 2019, from 10 am until time of service at 12:30 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. with Mr. Jonanthan Duggan officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

John has left us for a while and will be missed, but for him it will only be a brief time until he is reunited with his loved ones back here again. “John 5:28-29”
