John Charles Perry, 74, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones. John was born July 14, 1945 in Wheeling. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, retired Conference Service Supervisor at Oglebay Park, a U.S Navy Veteran and loved to bowl, play softball, run and golf. John was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Perry; granddaughter, Sienna Perry and grandson, Zac Monroe. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Mary (Gracik) Perry of Wheeling; mother, Helen (Howell) Perry of Wheeling; children, Lisa (Tim) Monroe of West Liberty, WV, Lori (Eric) West of Virginia, John (Lindsey) Perry of Wheeling and Stephen (Lexi) Perry of Marietta, OH; three brothers, Lewis (Sharon) Perry, Joe (Nancy) Perry and James (Teresa) Perry all of Wheeling; seven grandchildren, Chelsi (R.J.) Comer, TJ Monroe, Savhanna West, Sydney West, Kaden Schreiber, Houston Schreiber and Atlas Perry; three great grandchildren, Ayden Gordon, Aaliyah Comer and “Tornado” Adrianna Comer; three brother-in-laws, Mike (Annie) Gracik of McMechen, WV, Doug (Stella) Gracik of Glen Dale, WV and Chuck (Karen) of McMechen; several nieces and nephews and his companion Diesel. Friends will be received on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 6-8pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11am. Interment will follow at Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
