Carr, John David Sr., 76, of Wheeling, died Thursday, November 7, 2019, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.

He was born August 5, 1943, in Wheeling, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Detweiler Carr.

John was a retired laborer for Boury Inc., Wheeling and a US Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife Phyllis Brautigam Carr ; a son John D. Carr Jr. (Jennifer Young) of McMechen; a daughter Stacey Carr of Shadyside, Ohio; a brother Joseph Carr (Janet) of Fairmont, WV; four sisters Sandra Warden of Wheeling, Mary Lou Canter of TN., Linda Marshall of Martins Ferry, Ohio and Sara Sprouse of PA; five grandchildren Anthony Carr of Moundsville, Amiya Carr of Wheeling, Alyvea Carr of Wheeling, Aidan Carr of Wheeling and Hunter Knight of Shadyside; a great-grandson Jaxxen Walters of McMechen.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 4 pm – 8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV. where services will follow at 8 pm with Rev. Dr. Larry Kline officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
