Joseph Stanley Cuchta Jr., 87, of Moundsville WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
He was born September 28, 1931 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Joseph Stanley Cuchta Sr. & Veronica (Youhas) Cuchta.
Joseph was a retired steel worker for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church and a US Airforce Korean War Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Cuchta and five sisters, Virginia Hadsel, Dorothy Dow, Margaret, Elizabeth Connors and Vera McMahon.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Helen Jean (Hadom) Cuchta of Moundsville; son, Joseph (Barbara) Cuchta of Moundsville; two daughters, Darlene (Pete) Paliswat of Shadyside, OH and Debra Robinson of Sunbury, OH; brother, Anthony (Bonnie) Cuchta of McMechen, WV; seven grandchildren, Thomas (Brittany) Cuchta, Michelle (Justin) Copley, Amanda (Kyle) Schwarz, John Cuchta, Ashley Robinson, Andrea Robinson and Andrew Robinson & two great grandchildren, Lydia Cuchta and Ayden Zale Copley.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev, That Son serving as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Mt, Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, with military graveside rites
