Joyce (Morgan) Vogler, 75, of South Bend, IN., formerly of Wheeling, passed away September 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Hospital, South Bend.
She was born on December 26, 1945 in Wheeling, WV. and was a 1963 graduate of Central Catholic High School.
She was the daughter of the late J. Walter and Virginia Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her brother Ronald A. Morgan.
Joyce is survived by the love of her life Ronald D. Vogler where they joined in marriage on September 15, 1978. Also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Ann Alvarez and her husband Robert of Tucson, AZ., two nephews Robert Alvarez of McKinney, TX. and Graig Alvarez of Houston, TX., along with two aunts Margie and Linda Morgan and many cousins.
Joyce retired from University of Notre Dame after 32 years of service. She was an avid Notre Dame Football and Women’s Basketball fan, both home and away.
She enjoyed the week long annual Morgan Family Reunion at the Oglebay Cabins which started in 1970 and still going strong.
A Catholic by faith, she was a member of St. Joseph Parish, South Bend, IN., and St. Michael Parish of Wheeling, WV.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday September 30, 2021 from 5-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling. Vigil service will be at 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, 11:00 am at St. Michael Parish, Wheeling, WV. with Rev. Carlos Melecoton as celebrant .Entombment to follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Catholic High School, 75 14th Street, Wheeling, WV. 26003 or St. Michael Parish, 1225 National Road, Wheeling, WV., 26003.
