June L. (Berkman) Bryson, 91, of Wheeling, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017, in her home surrounded by family.
She was born January 10, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Edna (Mason) Berkman. June was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and The Christian Mothers’ Association. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1944. After graduation June went to work for C&P Telephone Company until she married and became a homemaker. She loved going to the beach every year with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey T. Bryson (1993) and a granddaughter, Lisa Bryson Ames (2004).
June is survived by her loving husband, of 69 years, William “Bill” R. Bryson Sr.; two sons, William R. (Sally) Bryson Jr., of Wheeling, and John D. (Kathy) Bryson, of Berlin, Connecticut; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Jennifer) Elias and Mrs. Mike (Mary Lynn Bryson) Torlone both of Wheeling, WV; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 154 Kruger St. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 8, at 10 am, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
