Leo P. Morgan, 86, of Wheeling, WV died peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021.
He was born in Benwood, WV on June 12, 1934, a son of the late Lyle and Mary O’Connell Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Johanning and Geraldine Wendel; his brothers, Joe, Walter, Rev. Leo Morgan, O.F.M., Paul, Bernie, and Bob.
Surviving is the love of his life Linda (Monfradi) Morgan, married for 55 wonderful years. Also, Surviving are his 3 children, Michelle (Morgan) Lindsay and her husband Kent, Patrick Morgan and his wife Margot, and Steve Morgan and his wife Missy; seven grandchildren, Madison and Gavin Lindsay, Theresa, Sarah, Donna, Baylie and Alison Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
After working at Kelly’s Furniture, Leo and Linda founded Linda’s Cake Decorating, where they served Wheeling’s special occasions for several decades. He then retired from Freismuth Printing, to spend more time with his family and friends.
Leo had a strong commitment to God, which was evident by his loving and compassionate heart. He was an active member of Saint Michael Parish, where he served in many ministries. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Hibernians, and the Cave Club. He loved playing cards with his family and friends and fellow Knights. He was avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates and the Mountaineers. Leo (Pap-Pap) loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV 26003 on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael Catholic Church with Monsignor Eugene Ostrowski as celebrant. Interment will be held in Mt. Calvary, Cemetery.
Vigil services will be held on Thursday at 7 pm.
