HASWELL, Loretta Jane Metz, 95, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Sunday January 5, 2020 in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.
She was born January 30, 1924, in Warwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Cochrane Metz. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Benwood and a retired secretary for the WV Department of Transportation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Haswell, two sons, Charles and Robert Haswell, three sisters, Anna M. “Mazie” Kerns, Betty E. Metz, and Selena Barnett, and one brother, William Russell Metz.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judith Bradcovich Haswell of Wheeling; two grandchildren, Amy Jo (Ryan) Chase of Wheeling and Jason Haswell of Wheeling; and two great grandchildren, Sydni Shannon Chase and Hunter Charles Chase.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 2 pm until time of funeral service at 6 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. Private entombment will follow.
