Lucille Martha Coury Gibbons, 92, of Wheeling, WV, was called home on Sunday, February 9th, 2020, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Lucy was born July 17, 1927, in Wheeling, daughter of the late Barkett and Sadie Aowad Coury. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling; and was a homemaker. Lucy loved the Lord and was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. She was the community grandma who was well known for her open doors, Sunday breakfasts and deep conversations on the front porch. With her infectious smile and an unforgettable laugh, she made everyone in her life feel special. She lived a long life full of love, prayer, laughter and hugs. Heaven has truly gained a treasure.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Gibbons, two brothers, Louis and Charles, one sister, Eva Moffet, two sons, Roy and Larry Jr., and son-in-law, Philip Ruggiero.
Lucy is survived by four sons, Charles of Ohio, Ronald (Kim) of Wheeling, Donald (Natalie) of Missouri, Robert (Paula) of Wheeling, two daughters Cynthia Ruggiero and Patricia DiBartolomeo of Wheeling, daughter – in- law, Melissa Gibbons of Wheeling, sister-in-law, Glenna Dillon of Wheeling, and several beloved grand children, great grand children, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Monsignor Bakhos Chidiac, The Orosz family and The Smith family for watching over her for many years. Your care for her was remarkable.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday February 15th, 2020 from 10AM – 12PM at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12PM with Monsignor Bakhos Chidiac as celebrant. Private interment at the convenience of the family.
