WHEELER, Maiya A., 15, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Saturday, December 19, 2015.

She was born June 1, 2000, in Wheeling, a daughter of Albert and Stephanie (Macek) Wheeler. She was a student at Wheeling Park High School and an avid softball player. She was a long time girl scout and loved playing with her nephews who called her “MyMy”.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Albert Wheeler Sr. and Irene Marie “Susie” Porter.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandfather, George “NaNo” Macek; her maternal grandmother, Patty Taylor; her maternal step-grandmother, Bonnie “NaNa” Macek; two sisters, Dominique Estep and Amanda Delinger; two brothers, Jonah Estep and Orion Wheeler; three nephews, Colton, Tino, and Sawyer; many aunts and uncles including, Lynn and Rich Allen, Tracy Kittle, Billie and Mike Rajowski, Margaret and Jake Koontz, Amanda and Paul Taylor, Justin Macek, and Michael Cutler; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 9:30 am until time of service at 12:30 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, with Rev. Eric Swayngim officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
