I regularly caddied for Manny on Saturday mornings back in the 1980s, and it was always an enjoyable experience. The “rain or shine” comment brought a smile to my face because I remember some mornings when the ball was nearly impossible to track in the rain/fog. Great memories of walking the hills of Speidel together.

I worked with Manuel Viola in the early 80s doing PR work for Children & Family Services. The HRC was a wonderful resource for many people, including my mother who participated in art classes there well into her 80s. Thank you to the Viola family for sharing him with all of us. He made Wheeling a better place.

Mr. V was first my professor at WL and then my boss at Children and Family Services. I have told many people he was the best boss. When you had a meeting with him he always gave you his undivided attention. Thank you for giving me my start.

We usually have only one mom & one dad. Your family was blessed by wonderful parents/grandparents/great-grandparents. He served his faith community & the larger Wheeling community with distinction. We have been blessed & enriched by his presence among us. Peace, comfort & guidance of the Holy Spirit now & in the days ahead.

Dear Viola family, The sorrow we feel, when we loss those we love, bring much grief of heart. We may feel as did the Christ, as he wept over his friend Lazarus, knowing he had the power to resurrect him. Yet, He gave way to tears, because it is a hurtful enemy of us all. One day the example of that resurrection will fill the earth, just as He resurrected Lazarus all in the memorial tomb will come out. John5:28,29

My deepest sympathy on your loss. Mr. V was an amazing man. He was a teacher and a mentor. He led Children & Family Services (Family Service-UOV) with dedication and insight, and made it a premier community and senior service agency.
